A highly energetic leader and mentor with over 30 years of international transaction experience, know-how and networking capabilities in Industry 4.0, IT, High Tech, FMC and large mega infrastructure projects in global markets. He is an expert in strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, business development, global marketing, operations management and incubation, accelerators, series financing and IPOs with a global perspective. i.e. understanding the life cycle of a company from start to finish.
Biography
Mr. Kanno is the CEO of HeartCore Enterprises, Inc., who began his career as a pilot in the Japan Air Self-Defense Force after graduating from university, later launching a sporting goods business that helped spark the snowboarding boom in Japan. He founded HeartCore in 2009, growing it into the leading company in Japan’s CMS (Content Management System) market and a frontrunner in the process mining industry. On February 10, 2022, he achieved a major milestone by leading HeartCore to become the third company based in Japan to go public on NASDAQ. He currently supports corporate CX (Customer Experience) and DX (Digital Transformation) strategies, spearheads VR technology development, and runs the ‘Go IPO’ consulting service, helping Japanese companies prepare for U.S. listings based on his own proven experience.

Mr. de Sampigny is a partner in the New York office; he is a member of our Asia practice. Mr. de Sampigny focuses his practice on securities law. His experience includes representation of issuers, underwriters or placement agents in connection with both public and private offerings of equity and debt securities in the U.S., including IPOs, follow-ons; registered directs; PIPEs; CMPOs; SPACs or business combinations. Prior to joining HTFL, Mr. de Sampigny worked as an associate in several law firms in New York, London and Paris. Mr. de Sampigny also worked in-house for start-up companies.

Hee-Kang Shin is a capital markets and corporate finance specialist at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (BKL), with extensive experience in IPOs, financial institution M&As, and cross-border securities offerings. Recognized as “Securities Lawyer of the Year” (Asian Legal Awards 2017) and “Deal Maker of the Year” (ALB Korea Awards), he is also listed among Legal Times’ “2020 Lawyers of the Year” for his expertise in capital markets.

David W. Boral is a seasoned expert with over 16 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets. In 2020, he founded D. Boral Capital, where he currently serves as CEO. With extensive experience in IPOs, SPACs, M&As, and other financial transactions, he has held leadership roles at firms such as Aegis Capital and Maxim Group. Beyond his professional work, he is also committed to supporting child welfare and veteran-related causes. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the Lubin School of Business at Pace University.

Wendy is part of BDO’s Global Offerings Services group, where she supports clients and engagement teams in resolving accounting, auditing, and SEC reporting issues. With over 35 years of experience, she specializes in U.S. and international financial reporting. She coordinates the IFRS practice in the U.S. and represents the country on BDO’s Global IFRS policy committee. Wendy advises on the technical application of IFRS and has helped companies transition between US GAAP and IFRS. She is also a frequent instructor on accounting, auditing, and SEC reporting topics globally. Previously, Wendy served as an audit principal in BDO’s Washington DC office, working extensively with global manufacturing clients.

John joined Gateway in 2019 as an analyst covering the technology, media, and telecommunications (TMT) sectors, where he plays a key role in delivering comprehensive investor relations services. Prior to joining Gateway, he spent two years at The Walt Disney Company in Glendale, California, working in the Consumer Products Commercialization division, focusing on licensing for Marvel and Pixar. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a minor in Marketing from Pepperdine University, where he was also a scholar-athlete on the men’s basketball team.

Inez Chew is the Director of ActiveDisclosure at Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFIN) in the Asia-Pacific region. With over a decade of experience in technology adoption, she has supported a wide range of companies—from startups to multinational enterprises—in developing policies, automating workflows, and implementing tech-driven strategies to meet evolving governance and disclosure requirements. She specializes in working with Foreign Private Issuers (FPIs) preparing for U.S. IPOs, helping them establish efficient disclosure processes, improve financial reporting, and ensure SEC compliance readiness.
